Rotting In The Library
In the hope that I may do some real work amidst the slacking. Which I did.
Spent like the past 2 days refining my job applications.
Applied to Shell and P&G. Still deciding what nice things to write for BP. I mean, for the online applications, each company has different styles and asks different questions. BP questions are so philosophical. Darn!
I tried to apply for some banks. But they are so strict. Deadline over then stop all recruitment. So I applied for their summer internships. haha... I wonder if I'm eligible, since I will stop studying after June. But on the other hand, I'll still be an NUS student, no? cos I won't be commencing until like next year.
I don't know.
Just apply and see.
When they ask, I'll just say: it's the only option I can exploit to get into your company mah... Some more you can make use of this internship to try me... At a lower cost some more leh...
And then, the banks all made disclaimers that they won't sponsor employment visas to anywhere. So mean. But I wonder if they do mean it, or it was just some way they use to deter speculative candidates.

Writing all these applications made me think and rethink my strengths and weaknesses, my achievements and such.
Tough to name.
I mean, I may be doing a lot of 'right' things in life, but those were little things.
Well...
I was writing about my contributions in CCAs. Was a little touched when I recalled these memories. ha... I didn't want to brag, as what my many friends told me -- Be yourself, such that when they do accept you, you won't need to pretend to be another person you did in interviews. But when I recounted stuff I did, I was quite impressed.
Perhaps it's self-infatuation.
I mean, who in the world now will look at LB and say, wow! zenov did this and did that. I don't know if they carried on or improved the initiatives, but one thing I know, no one remembered my contributions.
Sound so sore.
It was so coincidental that after the long period of recalling those stuff, I met James at Kent Ridge Terminal, when I was about to go Giant to buy groceries. The 1st thing that he asked me was: You not going to VAT??
VAT??
Why did he ask me that??
I don't know...
I don't even know when VAT will be held (perhaps it was that very evening bah... lol). My mind was so shagged after the brainstorming for job applications that I merely mumbled: VAT also none of my business.
Then on the bus, I realized how petty I sound.
haha... My subconscious mind always tell the truth. lol
Whatever.
I have so much school work to cope with. Between school and family commitments, the only little time I can spare I choose to spend with close friends over dinner. I can't even go for visits now.
Just as well.
It's not nice that I appear and disappear.
Even though people like Uncle Lee may not remember me, but well...
Maybe I'm finding excuses for myself.
And... Must complain.
CORS got new rule: Can only bid for 6th module in Round 3.
WHAT KIND OF STUPID RULE IS THAT?!?!
They claimed that it was to ensure that everybody have a fair chance to bid for at least 5 modules.
I don't get it.
If I need 6 modules, I GOTTA HAVE SIX FREAKING MODULES. What has that got to do with other people??
If they can't get 5 modules, it was just that they are useless in bidding, not cos other people too aggressive.
Come on, if I have to bid for 6 modules, I have to split my points into 6 parts. Those bidding for only 5 will have more points per module. The odds are actually against people like me who must bid for 6 modules.
It's so stupid.
Because of this, I have to drop one core module that I know should be free by Round 3. Then I threw all my bid points for the Arts GEM I die die must do, cos by the time I realize I have to do this, it was Round 2B and there were limited vacancies. If everything was status quo, I wouldn't need to waste so much points.
Other people won't need to waste so much points too, by fighting with me.
I think the CORS team's real motive is to force people to not save their points till final year where they can show hand and tekan new students.
Stupid people like to spoil a good system thinking they are doing good.
If it ain't broken, WHY FIX IT??
